Enjoying Life’s Purpose – My new book completed in 2021.

‘Enjoying Life’s Purpose’

Last year I was inspired to sit down and write a book on ‘purpose’. That topic just means not just so much to me, but it is a topic that a lot of people resonate with in life, and we are always searching for meaning in what we do, what our plans and dreams and goals are.

I am hoping that some of the quotes I have used resonate with you and give you a great perspective in your spiritual life.

The book I wrote was called “Enjoying life’s purpose”. I dedicated it to my beautiful friend Adam and he even said my book was incredible and that he thought it was literally world class. Now that I think about it I have no idea how I did it. I felt it was a spiritual thing. Words pouring out while I type and just letting it flow and manifest in the way that it was meant to be.

It also is a journal where you can apply life applications with questions to do with certain paragraphs I wrote. The chapters were sectioned off with titles such as “Just purpose”, “Enjoying goal setting”, “A rich experience in purpose” …

What do you think of when you hear that word ‘purpose’? When I look at that word, I think of heading somewhere with an action plan in mind or even a goal. I completely love this word and I am not sure why but there is something behind that word that shows authenticity and is real.

There are three definitions that you can find to do with this word, and the first is ‘the reason for which something is done or for which something exists’. The second definition is ‘a person’s sense of determination’ and the third can be to ‘have one’s intention’.

You can merely exist in the world and not have purpose, trudging through life with no sense of direction or plan or goal. There MUST be a reason as to simply why you were put on this earth and that you were created FOR a purpose. Purpose can have such a wide interpretation and meaning to it. If you were to brainstorm or set out a map or blueprint of your life, what would your life’s purpose be like?

What are your plans? Your life goals? I have SO many, I absolutely LOVE to create plans and goals and especially when it comes to my music goals. This has been a huge strength for me in the past, for example, I have written down music goals with releasing a single in mind in 2021. I released Mood to Party, and I am now on the way to releasing a seventh. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would put into place something that has created SUCH purpose in my life! It has brought excitement and I love to communicate my goals with others to show that I can have a plan full of purpose with these goals set out in my mind.

Purpose matters. It can be something we can never describe or imagine. It is unfathomable. Our minds cannot comprehend the purpose and heart of what life can offer. To reach for the stars literally means that we can do anything in life. It is not just about ‘belief’, it is having that goal in mind, planning it and acting. This I discuss more about in chapter 10 on goal setting which would help with your personal development!

Learning to enjoy life’s purpose is a journey. Filled with faith, love, joy, and peace. We are a people of destiny and prioritising goals, and things keep our minds in action.

Purpose brings alignment to our minds, body and spirit. And having this should allow us to foster a deeper commitment to the Universe. Manifesting what is ours. To seek with all our hearts a purpose of life. We can manifest abundance, self-growth, self-development and so many other things if we know what our purpose is.

Purpose gives us LIFE according to the universes purpose.

I read a book called ‘Enjoy – Finding the freedom to delight in Gods good gifts by Trillian Newbell and it was a fantastic read and thoroughly enjoyed writing a book review blog on it. It is a faith-illustrative, scriptural based book on experiencing the fullness of life. I was inspired by writing this blog that I wrote the review in my book, and I felt a strong connection to the book for my book which resonated a lot with me.

Joy is something that is nurtured and developed within us. It was a therapeutic type of book. The writing style I was able to read, and I read it within about an hour online, taking quotes and paragraphs to write the blog with inspiration. She talked about gifts in which I believe is intended for our enjoyment. In which I am truly learning the fit of writing, even music!

We can experience the fullness of enjoyment as we use our gifts daily. We can and should ‘enjoy, delight and rejoice!’ I delight in painting, watercolour and oil plus music and theatre and a wide variety of activities and interests. It is nice to have that huge variety so that it keeps you busy in life.

Enjoying things should be something we should have in our lives. I am currently taking up an interest in wanting to plant herbs, and Naturopathy (Alternative Medicine) even reading books on Neuroscience. Whatever gives you that rush of enjoyment, do it! It gives you absolutely purpose in that pleasure of actioning things you enjoy.

There must be purpose for us to make sense of the world and that we can easily fall into the snare of discontentment. It would make life very hard to live if you are not feeling content within yourself. Life was created for us to enjoy, so, do things for yourself that would TRULY make you feel that sense of JOY! Schedule a coffee date of brunch with a friend, make a beautiful wholesome meal for someone, bake a cake, this will also give you joy to serve and do things for others and leave you with satisfaction.

I thoroughly enjoyed writing my book, Enjoying Life’s purpose, and it gave ME purpose. Someone said to me, well, Adam, my friend whom I dedicated the book to, said to me to focus on my strengths and he thinks I should focus on being an author, in which I truly do believe! As much as I want a music career. He said my writing was JUST as good as my music. And that filled me up with so much happiness.

I have learnt to enjoy the ride of life and I honestly hope you do too. Find that purpose, Find your nice and what you enjoy the most and stick to it. Get unstuck. Stagnancy ruins and stops us from achieiving our purpose in life, so I say, grab at it and life!!

Find books on purpose and enjoyment. Make a list. Write it in your notebook, and you will find so much satisfaction.

Remember the four steps to purpose.

  1. Vision
  2. Priorities
  3. Goals
  4. Action plan

I could talk more about those four things, but it is written in the book. The book will eventually be published by Austin MacAuley, and it currently in production process right now. I don’t know when it will be published, but it may possibly have success. And I plan on submitting an application to a Christian bookstore, Koorong.

I hope you enjoyed reading and if you would like to know more about my book or anything else I have written, let us know and I can create a Part Two for you!

“Delightful Days in Dunsborough”

Featured

On the 16th and 17th of August I took a trip to the South West of Western Australia. The holiday was set for Dunsborough, but also planned Margaret River and Cowaramup as well. Planning was fun and I loved packing bathers, a book, and dresses even though it was Winter in Australia.

On the way to Dunsborough we stopped of at the Bunbury Markets and I couldn’t believe how big it was! Lots of tomatoes….. plus vegetables, fruits and I got a $10 fruit watermelon juice which was absolutely delicious.

Flowers in Bunbury Markets were gorgeous!

I stopped by to smell the roses.

After about two hours drive from Bunbury, or maybe an hour or so we arrived at the motel which was called the Bay Village Resort and Spa Dunsborough. It was small but a 4 star hotel. I thought it was a cute place and I was able to place my laptop on the round dining table, and relax on the couches while watching The Voice that night. I did my nails, when I went to the Dunsborough Centrepoint shopping centre I bought a nice coloured nail polish, and a few essentials for staying there.

How cute was my little room! All set out elegantly, and nice bathroom towels. It felt luxurious.

We set off on a small adventure on the Monday, but did most things on the Tuesday.

Of course, I found a gorgeous little bookstore that had a book I loved! Text and Co had a lovely lady that I was able to chat with. I went into this store the Monday and Tuesday! and she was delightful to talk to – I was eager to buy a particular book but didn’t yet.

Books Books Books!

On the Tuesday we went straight for coffee at Merchant and Maker which was in the town of Dunsborough, and I loved to look around at the products on display! It is like a general store where they sell health products but also serve tea and coffee etc. You can follow Merchant and Maker on Instagram.

They had a variety of products. I didn’t buy anything, but I enjoyed my Skinny Weak Latte!

Next stop was Indian summer and Co. Which I had a look at the products and candles firstly, but then when I looked at the clothes I was completely drawn to a $50 white dress on SALE!!!! It was stunning, and casual and flows that I felt I HAD to buy it! It was meant to be….. The shop is an Australian brand that have floaty, feminine pieces that give a beauty to women that love to shop all things vintage inspired dresses. You can follow them on Facebook at Indian Summer and Co.

These are the gorgeous products that were on display.

We then went to the Dunsborough Shopping Mall, and I had heard about a Health Food Store, that we decided to check out Naturaliste Health which is on the corner of where there are shops lined along where the car park is.

I had another coffee, and then a Monet Toastie! It was the best toastie I had ever tasted and I am being totally honest.

I loved the little health food store. It was like a stop by place where you can get coffee and food, and also buy products in the store inside.

They do the most amazing IGTV videos on their Instagram page! Full of vibrancy and good energy!

Can you tell the toastie was DELICIOUS!?

We then took off on a drive to Margaret River, and went to Happs Wines. It was like entering into an adventure, it was magical seeing the beautiful scenery, and there wasn’t just wine.

There was pottery! It was like a small museum with lots of knick knacks, and antique looking things. I wasn’t taken by anything as I am not a pottery person but it was interesting going in there.

I headed to the back area where you can probably see on my TikTok that I did some wine tasting. I decided to buy the Fuchsia Happs Wine, as it was soft and fruity and my kind of Rose’! We went to Margaret River town and also Cowaramup and I bought this lovely picnic basket along with some food type goodies.

The book “The Paris Library” was from Text and Co. Yes, I decided to buy the book for $35.

We then went to Stella Bella Wines in Margaret River, and did a bit of wine tasting.

A few vineyards! and the sun was shining on a Winter day! We were so lucky!

After we had experienced these little towns we went back to the motel and I decided to have a little dip in the spa. Well, not a dip, more like sitting…..

Went back to the motel, and got ready to go out and have dinner. We went to a little Thai place that was right next to the motel and I had the usual Chicken and Cashew Nuts! My favourite Thai dish! The restaurant was called Bamboo Spice. You can follow them on their Facebook page Bamboo Spice here.

The next day we had another coffee at Naturaliste Health and another toastie – Thos Monet toasties are just the best! Then headed back home. We stopped by a friends coffee place in Bunbury Paper Route where they supplied the cakes. So I had a Spiced Chai Carrot Cake and took it home! Follow them on Instagram at Paper Route.

The 2 days holiday was amazing and I would do it all over again. In fact, in January I will be going to Busselton so I will be planning to go to all those places again.

I had a ball, and absolutely loved it all! I also bought Dandelion tea from the health food store which is great health wise! Please visit my Health and Wellness website which I will update with a Roast Veggie Pasta recipe up on the blog tonight! Will post on this blog too for your reference, just so you don’t miss out!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the small time I had in Dunsborough. It was “delightful” those two “days”!

A Simple Modern Timeless Bedroom Twist – BEDROOM TOUR

Featured

Recently I have had to move bedrooms in our house and I have never worked so hard in my life. Moving pianos, furniture and bookcases etc to get everything rearranged and sorted and organised.

I haven’t had time to blog, filling up a lot of time with appointments during the day and medical stuff it has all been quite hectic for a different reason. I used to get bored, but life has been filled with new and different things which is what I had hoped for.

I finally moved to a different part of the house and can now relax. So will give you a little tour of my bedroom, as I hope you like it.

I got rid of a lot of stuff and sent them to op shops, anything designer I kept, of course. But I had to chuck out Jo Malone boxes and I even got rid of a Union Jack rug as it won’t suit what I have done. My taste has completely changed recently for some reason and I like the fact that you can turn something simple into something elegant and modern at the same time.

I think I have chosen a classic look.

The first thing you see when you walk into my room is the white desk with laptop on charge and music books and my CD’s on display.

Can you see my lavender pot just peeking through the white blinds?

I have a view!

Well, of the front garden… …

I have a little music section where I have my digital piano and my record player. Of course my first ever vinyl record was Katy Perry’s recent album released “Smile”. Fun fact: My next single which I will be releasing I used “Harley’s in Hawaii” as a song reference for it! but it has a bit of an r&b twist/sound to it, which is exciting. Anyways, enough about that….. Let’s get back to the room.

My wonderful Clover White Bookcase from Early Settlers has been one of my favourite objects in the room as it is filled with….. well, … books! My recent post 7 Tips on how to get motivated and feel unstuck and feel your best in 2021 in which you should definitely have a read! It is filled with some great tips and ideas on how to feel inspired and not stagnant in life. My current book I am reading was inspired by it, Seize the Day – Living on purpose and making every day count by Joyce Meyer which you can buy from Koorong Bookstore in Mount Lawley or online for around $20.

Having a more modern classic looking bed has really been a game changer for me. I also love my white fluffy throw rug that I can curl up in when watching TV, and I love the bedspread and quilt pattern. It has that filigree elegant look and still a hint of a royal appearance.

I really love the small cushion with the silhouette of a lady as it gives that more elegant look.

Isn’t it just stunning!

With the move I got given a white set of drawers to keep and it is big enough to put in necessities and casual dresses etc. I decorated it with a cream decoration of an Eiffel Tower and a Paris Box, and then I have my bathroom essentials on the left hand side at the top of it. The long thin mirror to the right I will be painting white when I can as I still like to keep the room white and black a little bit.

I like to keep things decorative!

So I decided to buy a bedside table that matched with my bookcase. I love how it all matches and I now keep things simple with one book on the bedside table instead of all piled up.

Then I have a rack of clothes alongside the storage unit.

I don’t have a wardrobe which I didn’t like at first, but I am slowly getting the hang of it.

I actually quite like it. It keeps things simple and I don’t have to store random junk up in a wardrobe filled with stuff you don’t actually probably need. I kept old royal books, Britain Magazines, Royal Magazines even a Harry and Megan Wedding book I got in England. Op shop time again….

It is best to keep things simple. Declutter your life, even I learnt that in “Confessions of a Shopaholic”. You learn a lot from Becky Bloomwood in the end. When you sort through old things that you don’t need it actually feels good to do a huge clean out. I even had London signs up in my room, but at the end of the day, I thought if I really wanted them I could re buy them at an opshop for $4 again, no biggy.

The dressing table was cleaned and I sorted through all my makeup. No flowers on the dressing table this time. I have flowers that I kept on my storage unit where the TV is which we will get to that in a second, but if I wanted flowers I can always buy some more. Fresh ones are on my writing desk, and they were $20 from Woolworths in Aldi in Kingsway here in Perth, Western Australia.

I organised all my eyeshadows together, and then foundation and Hydrating Glow Mist sprays together, and then brushes, mascara, eyeliner are all displayed on the table, and the lipsticks are to the right, in which I bought a Kim Kardashian one which I LOVE! I keep hairspray and a self tanning body lotion plus bronzer from MAC Cosmetics and then makeup remover.

This is the white storage unit I was talking about, and we mounted the TV up on the wall. It is lovely to be able to view from the bed, and yes, I have kept a few Britain magazines to keep to the side. There I have an Instagram Pastbook that was created from all my 2020 images on Instagram and a Victorian and Albert Museum book I created from all the images I took on my I Phone.

The small canvas print is a photo of my three sisters and I. The fabric boxes are great! and easy to chuck clothes in, or any spare things you want to keep from staying on the floor.

This laundry hamper I got yesterday I only got for $40 from Big W, and the picnic basket was $43 from Coweramup which is close to Maragaret River. I had a lovely drive to Dunsborough, and holidayed in the regional south-west of Western Australia in which I will do a separate blog for! So much to talk about, get excited about and see and do when I was there. Will fill you in on the adventure hopefully next week. So, the picnic basket is filled with all my vitamins and supplements and Rolled Oats when I have blueberry yoghurt for breakfast. The books displayed are Diana (about the Princess of Wales), New York in Bloom by Georgianna Lane – lovely, stunning photographs, How to be Parisienne, Love, Style, Life by Garance Dore and The New Fashion Rules by Victoria McGrath (InTheFrow), then you’ve got Althorpe by Charles Spencer, a $9 London book from BigW, Too Beautiful (Beauty Words for the soul) by Elaine Fraser and lastly, The Art of Herbs for Health by Rebecca Sullivan. These are all lovely books to have on display.

I would list all the supplements and products but just simply I have dandelion tea, white lions mane powder, vitamins for energy, hair, nails and skin, Collagen Beauty from NutraOrganics, and a few Isagenix supplements. I recently bought a huge tub of Fish Oil in which I take 2 supplements a day. Please visit my Health Based blog, Emmalisa Tilli Health and Wellness to find out more on what I do.

You can also find me on Instagram.

Thank you for reading and looking at my bedroom tour! That was the most exciting thing that happened to me the past week plus the idea of what is going to be my next single.

Please also visit my Facebook page, Instagram page and website for more details on my music life!

I will try and update my health & wellness blog and music blog as much as I can but I can’t promise anything as I have 2 courses to keep up with! Plus extra music/demo things on the side.

Thank you all for reading since 2015 if you have been a fan of mine since I started. It has been an AMAZING journey and I feel I have gotten better with content over time.

(If you are a writer, and would like to send something for me to review and collaborate with you, send your article to emmalisatilli86@gmail.com @exquisiteemmalisa I would love to work with you!

7 Tips on how to get motivated and feel unstuck & feel your best in 2021

Featured

Do you feel like your world is becoming sluggish? Do you think you need extra motivation, and becoming dry in your personality and/or character?
Are you wanting more self/personal development happening in your life?
feeling demotivated? inactive? Flat? Lifeless? Slack?

All these things mean you could be coming stagnant. I don’t know about you, but I have been lately, and it is something that I don’t want, or even need!

I thought I would write Seven tips on how to get motivated and feel your best.

Here is 7 tips to get yourself motivated daily or weekly to perform your best.

Let’s start with productivity.

1. Clean up your desk space.

Bring out your pretty stationary, stapler, paper clips etc and maybe buy a print on Etsy and frame that would be a nice decoration on your writing desk. Wipe your computer screen. Clean your keyboard. Clean your laptop. Change your desktop wallpaper to something pretty. Get a small vase and some fake flowers and put it beside your computer. Organise your papers and pens and put them in their proper place. E.G. pen holder, paper trays etc.

2. Read a motivational book.

I could list a NUMBER of books that could help in this arena.

Read something like an inspiring story. I bought “Seize the day” by Joyce Meyer and it was something that I badly wanted to get because it was to do with purpose. When I felt I was becoming stagnant I realised it’s because I don’t have much purpose. And that’s what I need.

Here is a list of books to get you motivated:

Think like a monk

Girl, stop apologising – Rachel Hollis

Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance – Angela Duckworth

Key to Success: How to Be Successful and the Habits of Successful People

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – Mark Manson

You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life – Jen Sincero

Big Magic: How to Live a Creative Life, and Let Go of Your Fear – Elizabeth Gilbert

Reading motivational books is so fulfilling and rewarding for your mind and general health and wealth. It abundantly gives you gems and sparks of words that appeal to the brain when reading. When I see a quote that pops out at me, I always have to share it on my Instagram Exquisite Emmalisa page or Emmalisa Tilli page. It also keeps you progressing and advancing. I don’t know about you, but having to read personal development books is what keeps me going in life, and self-growth is so important, and having those quotes and/or statements are what makes you endure life.

3. Write a To-Do List.

The best thing for productivity is to write a to do list, or even write a plan of the day. That is what I try my best to do almost every day to keep my mind and life on track.

For example, it may look like this:

  • Finish Assignment 7, question 4
  • Read my book The Mind Gut Connection
  • Call (family/friend)
  • Appointment/s for the day
  • Work on blog post
  • Type 1000 words for current book project

That is an example of what my day looks like. This is a daily example of mine, and is what I am doing for today, and I create a box, so that it is easier to get tasks done, so that I look at it, and see what has been done and what’s not.

Writing lists creates an efficient and effective day, and I am sure that is the most inspiring thing that everyone wants to do!

4. Eat Healthy

Make sure you are feeling your body and nourishing it with wholesome foods. Too much take away and Uber Eats can actually affect your mood and overall health. I recently started ordering Uber Eats three times a week or more, and I got a blood test and the results were that my cholesterol was way too high at 7.2. To lessen this I started to make a salad with cabbage in as it apparently lowers cholesterol. I highly recommend reading The Mind Gut Connection by Emeran Mayer. I have just started it and it is a brilliant read on how our mental state is affected by our gut health. It is almost like having two brains. The way you fuel and feed your body and gut/stomach affects your main brain in your head. So, once you have started eating healthy it generally lifts up your mood. One thing I find is that smoothies can refresh your body as well. My most top blog post is Sweet Sunday Smoothie

5. Do some calming meditation

I highly recommend this app called “Calm”. It has many sleep stories and is great for the brain when resting. There are other apps you can use for meditation, and you can simply just go onto YouTube and look up tutorials on:

Yoga

Pilates

Daily Mindfulness Meditation

10 minute meditation for anxiety

Things like this really help for those that struggle to keep a balance through out the day. I think its good to switch off technology and social media for 10-20 minutes DAILY if you want to be successful in life. You’re not going to become successful in productivity and/or being your best if you sit on your bum scrolling through Facebook and Instagram all day. Yes, they’re put there as a platform for connection and social connection/social networking/forums, but if you want to be successful you do have to learn to switch off at some point as it gives you rest and helps you refresh the/your mind. So that you can move onto better accomplishments.

6. Post your achievements on social media once you’re done!

I think that this is a FABULOUS idea. When I received my Certificate III in Library and Information Services in the post, I posted it on Facebook and I had so many people saying congratulations, it felt like I really did do something rewarding after I decided to post it on social media! I felt like I had REALLY achieved something great, and it was a good feeling. the process of the course took longer than expected but I pushed through, and the end result was amazing! I really did feel proud of myself and I will be doing this when I have my song on Spotify on the 9th July 2021. When Mood to Party is released I will be posting on Facebook for all my wonderful friends to see!!!!! and I am sure that will give me a proud feeling. If you have completed a short course, diploma or university course, share it. Instagram and Facebook are great platforms for that. and if you have done something like get your L’s or your P’s/drivers license, share it with the world! Be proud and look how far you have come and achieved.

7. Lastly, Take a walk

I did this just yesterday at Hyde Park in Perth Western Australia, and it was the best feeling. You will notice I stopped by a greenery structured area on my Instagram page, and I decided to wear a summery dress in the middle of winter. I wanted to bring some sunshine into my life!!! It was sunny outside even after it rained, and decided to go to Hyde Park, grab a skinny weak latte and nibble on a jam donut (whilst getting swooped by a duck that stole the rest….). Taking a walk does wonders for your mental health. it brings clarity, focus and stability. Your mind feels so much better when doing so and increases your cardiovascular fitness. and your heart rate which improves your heart health. It assists you with maintaining a healthy weight and lowers any risk of disease. So! Doing this can do so much for your general and overall well being. I highly recommend you take a walk at least once to twice a week if you can and bonus if you can do it three to four times a week! You will be fit and on your way to more happiness if you do! I used to be great at walking especially on the treadmill at the gym, but I must say I haven’t exercised like I should the past few years compared to when I was in my 20’s.

I hope you find these things helpful and that you enjoyed reading. Please have a look at the list of books to read, and make sure you jot them down for resources and you can highlight and write notes when reading to help further your personal development / self – growth.

Change and consistency is key. If you don’t change anything in your life you will always become stagnant, and dry. So, try change things up a bit! Take a vacation….. Then do your hard work. and stop procrastinating. You’re not alone in this, as millions of people around the world go through stagnancy, and motivating yourself is knowing yourself. what things keep you on your toes and continue on with creativity, and purpose.

I am currently writing a christian personal development / self-help/development book in which I have done 14,000 words and I am SO happy that I thought I would share that achievement on the blog! There! That’s ONE way to share!

So I hope you take these seven things and use them for inspiration. And out what inspires you the MOST! and go with it. Start small, and build on that. Don’t forget, inspiration is key for getting rid of a stagnant life, and knowing what inspires you whether its creative or whatever. Do that thing. Figure it out. Write down a plan. a daily planner or a weekly planner/to do list, and you’ll do great!!!

P.S. Someone recently today gave me some great advice and said the following:

“Don’t compare yourself to others, whether it would be lifestyle or personality. We are each unique, and should embrace that.”

With long-term development, french lipsticks have high quality with a wide range of colors. Red colors are steadily at the top best-sellers. In the lipstick world, the colors are very varied. If you go to the store and just ask for a red lipstick, the sales assistant will give you dozens of types to choose.

Parisian red lipstick is considered as the trend maker. As a pioneer, french leading beauty brands manufacture their lipsticks with many red tones, creating lipstick color trends in the word and deeply impact other foreign beauty brands.

However, the important thing that makes most women aspire is the beauty of Parisian girls with red lipstick. They have remarkable looks with classy beauty, confidence, braveness, powerful and energetic spirit. All make other people have to pay their attention to them.

So, how to put on red lipstick like a Parisian is a helpful beauty tip, as well as the concern of many women.

REVLON is one of the leading beauty brands with high-quality french lipsticks

2. Put on passionate red color of french lipsticks with Parisian’s tips

Not just choosing a red lipstick, Parisians do more to attain their attractive looks. Red lipstick makeup, red lip outfits, the way to better lips, etc. are what you should take a look at to know how Parisians have such beautiful looks with red lipstick. Here are 4 tips to wear red lipstick like a Parisian.

Choose suitable red lipstick

First of all, suitable red lipstick is the most important factor. The right red tone will help bring out your face. You can find it with 3 steps below:

  • Find your undertone
  • Determine what you want: to match or contrast
  • Complement your complexion

Besides, the textures of lipstick, including 2 two main types are matte and liquid, also impacts on the effects of lipstick. It’s relevant to lasting-color time and ability to conceal the lip’s blemishes. In common, matte texture is better at lasting color and liquid texture is better at concealing lip’s blemishes.

Red lipstick makeup

Makeup styles with red lipstick

Red is a remarkable color and often considered as evening lipstick color. But you definitely use red lipstick for daily makeup. Not just day or night, it’s also suitable for almost all situations. Thus, when to wear red lipstick is no problem. You can choose this lipstick color whenever you want to be more attractive and energetic.

Classic red lipstick makeup with smoky eyes and cat-eye liner is the perfect choice for evening events. In case of daily makeup, all you should do is skip the eye makeup step and replace with slim eyeliner.

Lip makeup tools

To gain the perfect lips with red lipstick, don’t forget to use lip makeup tools such as lip liner and lip brush to apply lipstick steadily on your lips. Lip concealer is another tool you should use to make it easier applying.

Red lip outfits

Fine feathers make fine birds. The outfits play an important role to give you an attractive appearance. If you have a good makeup look with red lipstick, bring it out with suitable outfits, going with your makeup style. Classic red lipstick is the popular red tone because it helps you combine outfits easily.

Amazing red lip outfits for powerful and classy beauty

Lip care

Another important factor to make perfect lips with passionate red color of french lipsticks is lip care. Dry lips with flaked skin can’t be ideal to apply any lipsticks. To care for your lips, there are 2 main steps, including exfoliation and moisturization.

Exfoliation

There are some notices about exfoliation you should remember:

  • Exfoliate your lips 1-2 times per week and avoid over exfoliation
  • You can use an exfoliating product for lips or do it yourself with common ingredients such as sugar, cinamon, etc.
  • Treat gently with your lips because it’s rather thin skin and vulnerable. Don’t scrub hard.
  • Scrub in small circles for best effect.

Moisturization

Like other skin parts of our body, lips need to be moisturized for smoothness. There are more moisturizing products for the body and face than lip. In case you have Asian skin, let’s consider these products from Korea. Korean moisturisers that will suit Asian skin now are very easy to buy with affordable prices.

However, there are still thousands of moisturizing products for lips which are called lip balm or lip gloss. In case you want to use organic products for your lips, moisturizing ingredients such as olive oil, honey, etc. can be the perfect choices. You can directly apply them on your lips before sleeping.

Conclusion

French lipsticks definitely deserve the favorite beauty items of most women with high quality, fame and prestige. And their passionate red color of french lipsticks is one of the most important factors making charming, attractive and classy looks of Parisian women.

To answer the question ‘How to wear red lipstick like Parisian’, this article gives you much information about french lipsticks, makeup and lip care tips. Hopefully you find it useful to attain amazing Parisian’s looks with red lipstick.

Brand Collaboration with TOUCHBeauty

I recently received an email from a Brand Collaborator at TOUCHBeauty, the lovely Jenna sent me an email and I was beyond excited to be able to do a review of one of their products at TOUCHBeauty.

I was eagerly awaiting for the package to arrive, and it came on Monday the 26th October which was a bonus to start the week off with!

This product is called the UltraSonic Scrub Device which is also an exfoliating skin scrubber as seen on the website.

This Ultrasonic Scrub Device was easy to put on charge. It came with a cord, and then you place the device on top of a silver spoon looking object where it can sit on top whilst charging. It comes with an Instruction Manual, which tells you how to do things properly, and before using the device you have to ensure that your skin is cleansed thoroughly, and that all makeup is off.

I did this before trying, and then I double tapped the Double Touch Switch button once I felt it was charged enough although it says to charge the device for four hours.

The device came in excellent condition, and it was absolutely clean, and the packaging was all boxed up nicely as you can see in the pictures. So, presentation and appearance was in highly good physical condition.

I then unpacked both objects as seen in the picture, and then plugged in the cord, once charged I double tapped the button, and slid the Intensity Touch Switch bar up with my finger slightly, starting up with the first level,

I tried using the product with that level, but then decided to increase the intensity level. It felt warm against the skin, and moisturised almost.

Using the appliance you have to place the Ultrasonic Spatula blade on the skin at a 30 degree angle and then move slowly on the skin.

Whilst doing this I could feel it working against the skin and you have to massage it against the skin.

It deeply is exfoliates the skin and as said on the website it produces up to 26,000 HZ ultrasonic vibrations per second to cleanse the skin without hurting or damaging the skin.

It also is good for blackhead removal when you put the spatula on it with a light pressure, it clears them using high frequency vibrations to get rid of the sebum and debris out of the pores.

I received this product from TOUCHBeauty in which they pride themselves on having a professional attitude towards the beauty and personal care devices industry. They have twenty years experience in the industry and focus on innovation and high quality products.

Here are 5 points on the device/product:

1. Utilizing cutting-edge technology and award-winning design concepts to cleanse, exfoliate, and massage the skin. It produces up to 26,000 ultrasonica vibration per second to deeply cleanse and exfoliate the skin without hurt or demaging the skin. Note: Please make sure that you wet the face with water before the use.2. It has 2 main functions and features 5 intensity levels adjusting to different skincare needs. You can choose the intensity level that best fits your skin.
3. The pointy side is the cleaning function. Try using it after removing your makeup, and you will see how much makeup residues were hidden on your pores.
4. The flat side is the message function. Boost the absorption of your favorite serum or cream, the vibration will increase blood circulation while promoting relaxation.
5. Wireless charging system and cordless operation. It has a charging dock to charge the device and does not require a cable. Convenient touch operation. If you have longer nails, this will make your life so much easier.

What to Say and How to Do: Writing Victorian Historical Fiction

By Sarah A. Chrisman

A Book Is A Time Machine

A book is the best and cheapest time machine you will ever buy.  As a writer of books about the Victorian era I often think of myself as a tour guide to another time.  When showing my fellow travellers the delights of a foreign time, I always remember the importance of not only knowing the terrain through which we’re travelling, but of being respectful of its people as well.  Something I was once told about understanding modern cultures is just as applicable to understanding cultures defined by time rather than mere distance: on my first day of French class at university the professor opened her very first lecture by telling us, “French people do not say things in French because they mean them in English and just don’t know any better.  French people say things in French because they mean them in French!”  So, too, with people of different eras.  They were not modern people acting certain ways and doing certain things because they didn’t know any better: they were members of a vibrant culture of time.  If you are going to bring strangers into their world to walk amongst them, you must first understand them.

Choose A Destination

Be very clear with yourself about the time and place that form your setting.  The Victorian era was very long and covered an immense diversity of places.  Tombstone, Arizona, of the 1880’s was very different from London of the same time, and Paris of 1900 was a radically different city from Paris of 1848.  A specific choice of where and when you’re going is the first step towards getting there.

Research, Research, Research!

I draft all my manuscripts by hand – a number of interesting studies have shown that the creative process works differently when writing by hand than when typing.  Next to my desk is a wicker basket full of notebooks, and each one is devoted to a different book in my series.  In the back of each of these is a reading list I’ve compiled for myself of materials I want to either read or revisit before I start writing that particular story.  For example, I just finished a novel about a reporter in the American Pacific Northwest in 1889.  Looking at the reading list I assigned myself before I started writing his story, I see the memoirs of a 19th-century journalist; four Victorian-era style guides and two period articles on the subject of how to write for the press; five detective memoirs from the time; two 19th-century novels about journalists; a journalist’s trade magazine; and a number of books, magazines and newspaper articles related to my hero’s personality and the historic events through which he’s living – and this is all just background!  As I write a book, I’m constantly doing still more research and delving deeper into my characters’ world and their motivations.

How do I put together these reading lists?  By constantly reading everything I can about the Victorian era and compulsively taking notes on them.  When I see a quote, fact or witticism that seems like it might fit into a particular story, I’ll jot it down in the notes I’m compiling for that story.  When I come across things that don’t fit with any planned project but are nonetheless worth remembering, I add them to my latest commonplace book.  This may seem like a slow and haphazard way to go about things at first, but once you’ve been at it a while you’ll be amazed at how much information you’ve compiled and how much more you’ve learned than a simple keyword search could have taught you.

Get Your Facts From the Original Sources

Remember what I said about books being time machines and authors being tour guides?  Your research is your tour guide training, and it’s best to get that training first hand.  In other words, read materials actually written in the Victorian era, not just modern things about the Victorian era.  Think about it this way: if you landed a job giving tours of Paris, wouldn’t you rather learn your routes from a native-born Parisian than from someone who’d never been there?

So many written materials of all sorts were produced during the Victorian era there’s really no excuse for not reading some of them.  Try to read the same materials your characters would have been reading.  If you’re writing about a middle-class American woman, read Godey’s magazine or period issues of Good Housekeeping.  If you’re writing humor about late 19th-century London, read the hilarious novel, The Diary of a Nobody.  If your hero’s a doctor read The Lancet; for a nurse read the works of Florence Nightingale.

You can buy a wide variety of antique or reprinted books through websites like Abebooks.com and eBay.  Digital copies of many hard-to-find works can be downloaded for free by using the Google Books Advanced Search function, and you can then print these out and bind them into a hardcopy format.  Don’t forget about period newspapers, too!  Many communities operate digital archives of their periodicals, and these can be absolute goldmines for knowing exactly what was really happening at the precise time of your story.

My favorite resources of all are diaries written in the 19th-century.  A surprising number of these have been published – I highly recommend Maud: The Illustrated Diary of a Victorian Woman.  Large archives often contain original diaries from people associated with their institutions; and if you’re very lucky you can sometimes find original diaries for sale from rare book dealers or even on eBay.  There is no more intimate connection to an era than reading the hand-written diary of someone who lived through it.

Some Travel Tips

Before I send you along on your journeys, oh fellow tour guides, here are a few tips for your journey:

—Avoid Anachronisms.  I don’t need to tell you not to give your Victorian heroine a cell phone.  Be aware, though, that it’s just as inappropriate to give her modern opinions and motivations.  Unless you are literally writing a time travel story DON’T give it a heroine who reads like she just stepped out of the twenty-first century.  Respect the world and culture you’re depicting by learning as much about it as you possibly can, then write characters appropriate to that world.

—Don’t Stereotype.  Don’t insert modern characters into historical settings, but don’t fill those settings with flat clichés, either.  Remember that you are painting a picture of a diverse community where every individual has a complex personal history.  Flesh out those backgrounds for yourself and you can make the world come to life for your readers.

—A Couple Basic Guide Books.  Every work of historical fiction has an entire library behind it, but there are a couple types of books that are useful to every writer of the genre.  You’ll want a period style guide.  My personal favorite is Wolstan Dixey’s The Trade of Authorship from 1889.  (Give particular attention to pp. 74-91, “The Trade”.)  Familiarizing yourself with writing advice from the time will help you settle into a style of your own that feels natural for the period.  Besides this writing guide, you’ll also benefit from a period etiquette guide.  I’m a fan of Hill’s Manual of Social and Business Forms.  This will give you a succinct overview of advice from the time and help you (and your characters) avoid common pitfalls.

Bon Voyage!            Your readers are depending on you to bring them to another time and place.  Be worthy of their trust by learning as much as you can about their destination and presenting it in a respectful and realistic way.  Pleasant journeys and happy trails!

Historical Fiction Writing with Universal Class LESSON 2

Featured

ELEMENTS OF HISTORICAL FICTION

Every genre of fiction has its own special elements. The elements of historical fiction are varied. They include characterisation, setting, plot themes, and specific styles and tones.

Characterization

Let’s start with characters.

Your characters may be real people that have lived in the past.

Oftentimes, these people are famous but, of course, they do not have to be. You may do research on someone who lived in the past and shape your story around them in order to give more notice to that character. They may be someone you feel should be noted for deeds accomplished but so far, is a bit overlooked, historically speaking.

A recent novel titled Alice I Have Been by Melanie Benjamin is a good example of this. This is a historical fiction novel that tells the story of the girl who would later become Alice in Lewis Carroll’s, Alice in Wonderland. Additionally, it tells a bit of the story behind Lewis Carroll.

The story is historical fiction because we could never be privy to all of these conversations and thoughts, but for all the research the author did, we have an excellent idea of how things were and what happened.

Another option is to create completely original characters who are not based on anyone who has ever lived. If you do this, in order to make it historical fiction, you must set your characters in a historical period. Choose a specific date or event and then do as much research as you can to bring the story to life.

One thing that happens in historical fiction–that happens in all fiction, is that your characters will change over the course of your novel. The difference here is that this usually occurs because the characters are shaped by their settings.

Setting

The setting of your novel is so very important in historical fiction, almost more so than in any other genre of fiction. It is almost a character in itself. Your characters are shaped by it. Because your story is historical and set in the past, your characters will be defined by it.

It means you must also research the moral constraints of the time period.

What were the social constructs of the day?

What was acceptable and unacceptable in terms of behavior?

As your characters are shaped by this, they will change and grow throughout the story based on these morals, constraints, and patterns of behavior.

It is also important to note that you will set your story in a specific geographical place and time. This will require lots of research. Make sure you know everything you need to know about your chosen place and time, and everything your readers will want and need to know to help them through the story.

We will talk more about research in a later lesson, but be prepared. Know that research is your best friend and the most essential tool when writing for this genre.

Plot Elements

The plot elements in an historical fiction novel can be quite unique, especially when compared to the plots of other genres. For example, the problem or problems in your historical fiction novel will usually be a result of the time and place that the story is occurring.

Another way that your conflicts or problems will be a result of time or place may simply be those moral constraints we talked about before. If you are writing a historical fiction romance novel, the courtship rituals were much different back then and this could be your characters’ problem, or it could be some type of familial censuring, such as an arranged marriage, which is causing the difficulties in your story.

Your research will be a great help in showing the reader this problem and allowing them to understand where your characters are coming from.

You want your readers to read along and really feel as if your story happened, the way readers do in Alice I Have Been. You cannot possibly know everything about the characters or the time period, you want your readers to feel that you do. They should be so swept up in your writing that they never stop to question or contradict a point. This is where a good, solid plot line comes in, as does good, solid research.

Theme

The themes of historical fiction are somewhat similar to the themes of any genre, which mostly is good versus evil. However, in historical fiction, we use the people and events from the past to shed light upon some basic truth about the past.

Style and Tone

The style of an historical fiction novel includes a great deal of detail. You want to use as much accuracy as possible. Your reader must feel like they are there, in the story, in that place and time, if you want to be successful.

Style is a very important element when writing for this genre.

If you were to write an historical fiction novel without giving any thought to the style, it might come out a little, well, odd. Because you live today and you are writing about the past, the language, word choice, vocabulary, etc. might not sound quite right. What you need to do is to come up with a style and a tone that fit with your story.

For an assignment I have to choose one historical figure and characterise them, so off I go! There is an assignment to complete for this lesson for that and then an exam to submit.

I think character is important and setting are the main ones you have to start off with as it sets the tone for the rest of your writing.

I have a novel in the works while I write this, and have written three chapters but I may have to learn to be more verbose and include more dialogue in it as I included in my first assignment in the first blog post series I did for this. I mentioned in my Introduction that I am more descriptive rather than putting lots more dialogue but I believe that you have to have a balance.

This next week I will be working on the rest of the Lesson while working at small goals of assignments and exams for each lesson, so I will post each lesson on the blog!

I hope you enjoy!

Holiday in Paris! (2018)

Featured

If you are like me, you would know that binge-watching the world famous show “Emily in Paris” is the most EXCITING and FASHIONABLE experience you will ever have off sight of Paris to make you feel like you are IN Paris!

Ooo La La! The clothes, the crossaints, the culture, the architecture! Even the trees!

The day I stepped foot in Paris I remember lots of cars to be honest. And the architecture was simply BREATHTAKING!!!!!

On every corner there is something stunning.

Everywhere you go, there’s something for you to enjoy.

I can’t exactly remember everything we did, because it was in July 2018 that I went, but I remember Tullieries Garden was absolutely stunning and beautiful and I felt I was in a movie! Walking through the gardens and park, it was glorious!

We went on “The View” which is a smaller Ferris wheel type of machine, and we could see a view of the Eiffel Tower from there, the views were absolutely breathtaking, and the sky opened up, as my eyes opened up!

This is what the View looked like.

This is the garden where Tullieries was, it was SO pretty! 😍

Just look at the buildings! and the scenery!

The best part about travelling is exploring, and can you see that TALL lamp post in front of the building? Its simply gorgeous.

SO much to explore! You could be there for DAYS! I think we spent four days in the city. and we stayed at The Normandy in Paris city.

We went on a river cruise on the Seine, which was so romantic. It was actually at night when we went, and I remember the Eiffel Tower lighting up, and the moon was hanging above the sky on the right. It was the most romantic thing I have ever done! This is where the river cruise was held, and there was a tour guide telling us about the buildings on the side, I don’t remember any information because it was so long ago, but it was informative from memory. Paris is full of history.

Here is a photo I took from the Eiffel Tower. SPECTACTULAR!

Aren’t you amazed?

I was absolutely taken by the scene, and the landscape of Paris!

I was more than amazed! Don’t you just love these photos? I was impressed myself from taking these, I was scared about going up the Eiffel Tower, but someone said millions of people do it everyday, so that made me feel more confident and before you know it I was up there CLICKING away!!!!! I love the landscape of Paris, its just breathtaking and really makes me feel (not just at home), but it makes me feel so heartfelt, and its a heart warming when you see what’s right in front of you.

Look below at those gardens!

Getting my Parisian on….. Do you like my red beret?

Along with my London bag…

In the Eiffel Tower was this long macaron tower, I wanted to EAT it!!!

One day we had a delightful afternoon tea in The Ritz in Paris. I really wanted to go there because that was the last place Princess Diana was before she passed away.

Inside was absolutely beautiful and everything was so golden.

Every time I look at this dress in my wardrobe I remember it was the dress I wore to The Ritz!!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed these lovely pictures of Paris from when I spent a few days there. It was July 2018, but I never posted the photos on my blog and I thought it was time to use them for something, plus! You can see what I got up to when I was there. I remember I had the best cinnamon sticks in a little place right near where The View was. I loved going on holiday there, and I would go back in a heart beat if I could. For now, I could just watch Emily in Paris for the FOURTH time, but maybe I will wait for Season TWO!!!! Who’s with me on that?

Im an Emily in Paris FAN!!!!

A List of my Favourite Author Blogs

Featured

This week has been a little more hectic compared to my normal lifestyle of listening to music, watching my favourite TV shows and movies on Netflix or Google play, and reading a few books here and there and then using my new laptop to play my digital piano and record some songs for fun. I have started volunteering at Save the Children in Malaga which is a 10 minute drive down the road from me and I was excited to be starting there yesterday as they put me straight onto the “books”! in the warehouse. It is a fun job and I think for now it is the perfect job for me three days a week as I don’t have a permanenent full time job or anything, but I have one thing in the pipes music wise, so lets hope that works out down the line but that is another story for another time! I will keep you updated!

So, I started on unpacking books, and putting them into their categories, and I learnt a lot already just from the first two hours of working there!
I even remembered when they had a box for Art that that was the number 700 from the Dewey Decimal Classification System, so my brain was quite on par library wise!

It is so fun to be able to do the work, but lets see how its goes down the track! I recognised a lot of authors names, Dan Brown, Robert Ludlum, Di Morissey, you will always recognise author names when working in books, and so I have decided to make this post a little more delightful and create a list of my favourite authors names but also put their blog link with it so it gives you the chance to be able to check them out!!!!

My first and favourite one is:

1. Carrie Turansky – carrieturansky.com – this is such a stunning page and my favourite book of hers is “The Governess of Highland Hall”. I have probably mentioned that way too many times before! Her latest release is “No Journey too far” and I have read the rest of the Edwardian Bride Series and Shine like the Dawn. I want to get No Ocean too wide and Across the blue. You can sign up to her newsletter on her website and she also has a Book List!

2. Alena Kate Pettitt – of “The Darling Academy” – I just absolutely love the writings of her book Ladies Like Us as she goes through such beautiful topics such as Being a lady, being a darling!, emotional and social intelligence, and poise. My favourite section was on Defining your goals and aspirations as it really honed in on setting lifetime goals, and attitudes of the heart! It is beautiful written and you will not be disappointed if you purchase Ladies like us. She also has another book called English Etiquette which I want to get for myself! You can buy her books HERE.

3. DickensBlog – a Blog for all things Dickens! Here you can experience a blog page that promotes Charles Dickens’ books. There is a book you can get through this page called The Gospel in Dickens: Selections from His Work. It is $18US. I particularly liked the fact that on the 6th September 2020 that did an online conversation with a descendant of his!!! You will find this on the blog page link provided if you click on “A blog for all things Dickens!” You can easily subscribe.

4. Natasha Lester – This is particularly one of my favourites as she shares her “Writing Routine. ” She writes blogs that are more succinct and concise. For example, you should read How to Fit Writing Into Your Life: 6 Tips Based on My Writing Process on her website at natashalester.com.au. If you are a writer yourself, then articles and blogs are the way to go for you to read. It will give you so much more inspiration and will drive you to be a better writer!!!

I have the first two of her books.

The Paris seamstress

You will find this picture on my Instagram page.

The French photographer

She blogs every Tuesday and really sets her time working on her novels as you can see through her writing and blogs. So keep your eyes peeled every Tuesday, and her newsletters go out every Tuesday as well. So make sure to subscribe to her newsletter on the right hand side of the page/website.

I am excited to see her bring out The Paris Secret, but I am still on The Paris Seamstress and sooooooo excited and looking forward to reading the French Photographer as it looks completely stunning.

I don’t want to overload you with too many author blog pages, so I will stick to four for now and if I think of any more that I tend to read for myself I will create a Part 2!

So keep your eyes peeled incase I do do a part 2 of this blog. I hope that you enjoyed reading about these four favourite author blog pages of mine, and that you click on them and browse through them. There are some gems! and you never know some giveaways might be around the corner!

Novel Writing 101 – Lesson 1 and 2

Featured

Now that I am qualified as a Library Assistant and I have completed Styling Essentials, lots of new things are in the works.

I decided to take a novel writing course – a short one – online – so that I can further develop enhance my skills in that area of writing, so I am not just freely blogging, or typing away with no thought. Novel writing is not careless, it is complex, and there is so much to it that I thought it would be a challenge to take up a new course in something else that I love and am passionate about!

It is through Universal Class which is the same provider I used online when doing the Historical Fiction writing course online as well.

LESSON 1

Definition of. a novel

“If there’s a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”– Nobel Prize-winning American author Toni Morrison

With origins dating back to poetic prose from thousands of years ago — Elizabethan times, fanciful French romance narratives from the mid-17th century, and episodic, central-figure adventures from the Spanish Don Quixote era — novel writing is an art form that has long been an integral part of our culture.

WHAT IS A NOVEL?

  1. A fictional prose narrative of considerable length, typically having a plot that is unfolded by the actions, speech, and thoughts of the characters
  2. The literary genre represented by novels

In our contemporary world, the use of “novel” has shifted to focus more on the central character, than on the plot. Also playing a defining role in the novel, is the sense of realism. novels are developed as fictional stories the underlying element inherent in all are truisms based upon human behaviour and the ways in which we interact with others.

Novel Features

As a whole, the three primary features of a traditional novel include:

  • A cohesive, believable plot structure
  • Well-defined, credible characters
  • A strong undercurrent of reality

It has been said that a work of fiction is measured by how well, or poorly, the author is able to unify the story and control its impact. Therefore, the only obligation of the writer is to make the story flow well for the reader, and have strong elements of interest.

Classic Examples

  • Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility (1811), and Pride and Prejudice (1813);
  • Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre (1847);
  • Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights (1847);
  • Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter (1850);
  • Herman Melville’s Moby Dick (1851);
  • Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884);
  • F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby (1925);
  • Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises (1926);

Can anyone write a novel?

wanting to write a novel, and actually writing it, are entirely different things. In order to produce a novel, you first will need to create a structure around your project, define your objectives, and prioritize this project in your life to ensure you follow it through to completion.

Novel Writing: Rewards and Payoffs

Attracted by the following rewards and personal payoffs, many people do go forth with their plans to write a novel.

  • Satisfaction of achieving a hard-earned goal.
  • Medium to utilize creative skills, which may not otherwise be used in one’s professional life
  • Opportunity to hone one’s writing skills
  • Forum to focus one’s ideas and life experiences
  • Area over which one does not need to conform to anyone’s standards or rules
  • Outlet to showcase one’s theories, ideas and creative visions (albeit masked within a work of fiction)
  • Ego-gratification endeavor, culminating in one’s name appearing on the book jacket of countless copies
  • Lasting legacy

Regardless of what becomes of the finished product — picked up by a publisher, self-published, bestseller, etc. — the fact that you stayed the course in writing your novel is something that will remain with you for your entire lifetime.

Committing to the generation of your novel, and seeing it through to completion, is an endeavor that will leave you with a new-found confidence that will carry over on to any project you put before yourself.

Ideally, the following chapters will help you feel more secure with the novel-writing process and, thus, better able to navigate as you head out on this memorable journey.

I had to upload an assignment

Lesson 1 Assignment

Here is what I did:

My favourite novel that I like to read is called The Governess of Highland Hall and the Author of the novel is called CARRIE TURANSKY

I am a sucker for English Historical Romance novels, and when I read this front to back, I loved it from the characters to the setting to the situations etc. It is a perfect and ideal novel to look at as it is my favourite english historical novel based in England.

This is one of my favourite books because I am a sucker for English Historical novels and out of all the ones I have read, this by far has to be my favourite because of the story, and the writing is so easy to read, yet so eloquent and very English at the same time without it being too verbose.

It gives you a beautiful feel overall when reading, because of the choice of words, and the way it is written. The author puts words in a very articulate and expressive way through the characters view points and sets a delightful tone throughout the story.

When the reader is reading this kind of book I believe that they would be experiencing something pleasant as even though there is a section with conflict, the way it is beautifully written, it would give a feeling of delightfulness, which is also captivating, enchanting, joyful and cheerful.

I also had to submit three paragraphs for my novel and submit an Exam.

LESSON 2

“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: Read a lot and write a lot…reading is the creative center of a writer’s life…you cannot hope to sweep someone else away by the force of your writing until it has been done to you.”– Stephen King

Novel Writing Boot Camp 101

Writing Schedules”Try to write every day; if you don’t, you’ll lose the rhythm of your prose, as well as features of the plot, characters and, most importantly, your ‘voice’, the very timbre of the book that you are trying to maintain.”
— David Armstrong, author of How Not to Write a Novel: Confessions of a Mid-list Author

Thus, in order to acquire a manner of discipline around your novel writing process, the first thing you will want to do (before mapping out the story lines, or fleshing out your characters), is to assess your project in terms of the total time it will require you to invest.

Once you have gained an idea as to the amount of time your novel will demand of you, you will then be able to determine when — during the course of your busy life — you will realistically be able to sit down, concentrate, and write.

if we were to effectively use the time on our writing that we spend aimlessly wandering the Internet or mindlessly watching television, then we should be able to carve out a sufficient number of writing sessions per week.

Focus/Motivation

After formulating a working writing schedule, you can shift your focus to the best ways for sustaining your motivation and ability to focus solely on your novel.

It is at this point that you may find yourself falling somewhat short in your ability to hold your attention throughout long, intense writing sessions. Fortunately, should you find this to be the case, there are numerous methods you can employ to increase your levels of concentration and motivation.Capturing your ability to focus on one activity for a sustained period of time, is something that can be greatly enhanced by integrating some form of regular meditation into your life. The simple act of learning how to sit still, and focus your mind, offers immeasurable benefits. Not only can it increase the satisfaction you derive on a daily basis, it can also contribute to your writing, in terms of allowing you to hold your thoughts for longer periods, and to explore multiple story scenarios without losing sight of the principle idea.

Helpful Novelist Tips

Chart your progress — Documenting the number of hours worked per day, and specific novel-related tasks accomplished, can be helpful in numbers of ways

Create an incentive for meeting your daily/monthly/overall writing goals — If you need to encourage yourself to stay on course, you may want to build in a series of goal-oriented incentives.

upon wrapping up the entire novel, do something very, very nice for yourself! Go to the movies, buy yourself a new piece of jewellery, perhaps a pretty journal like I posted in my previous post, 4 Books to read this year in 2020. And buy yourself some flowers if no one else is going to buy them for you!

Good Health

As a whole, it is probably most important that, as you divide your time up among your family, friends, work, and writing, you pay attention to what you are eating, the amount of sleep you are getting, the time you are allocating to physical fitness activities, and the degree to which you are using stimulants, e.g., tobacco and caffeine.

While you are attempting to stay focused and encouraged, it is essential that you take good care of yourself to ensure that your productivity and the quality of your work do not suffer.

Lesson articles featured are:

How to overcome writers block: 14 tricks that work

Lesson 2 Assignment was:

Exercise: To get a realistic sense of the amount of work/time you will need to commit to writing your novel, take a few moments to look at your calendar and block out the day\times you can allocate to the project. You can begin by answering the following questions:

1.  Realistically, how much time will you be able to commit per week to writing?

2.  Do you have an ideal timeframe for completing your novel?

3.  What types of activities, e.g., exercise, meditation, establishing calming environments can help you get and stay motivated during your blocked out writing sessions?

I am about to submit this exercise tonight and then tomorrow will work on Lesson 3!

I showed you my example of my first assignment in Lesson 1.

In the comments tell me if you would enjoy doing a course on Novel Writing. Would you do Novel Writing 101?

What is your favourite novel to read?

Can you write Lesson 2’s exercise in the comments below?

Do you like to write during the day or night?

If you could quit your job and write for a living would you do it?

What’s in my KENSINGTON PALACE BAG!!!!!!!

Featured

Today I thought I would show you all the things I have kept in my Kensington Palace bag from when I visited in July 2018, I spent so much time in different places it is hard to put it all into one thing as there was numbers of things I did and yet STILL soooooo much to do when it comes to England/London/stately homes and palaces etc….. I have kept this bag from when I visited like a year and a half ago, and it has definitely left its mark on me from collecting so many little things along the way such as brochures, memorabilia, books based on the places you visit when you’re there. The day I went to Kensington Palace it was absolutely surreal! I am sure there was a helicopter flying over and all the tourists were like Its Prince William! haha! I will never know for sure!

I kept the main book as it has a lot of history and information that is just amazing! The history you would be absolutely astounded by! You discover a lot about the duchesses’s, princess’s, Lords, etc. Lets take a closer look at the book, and delve deep as I haven’t fully read it myself, I just got it probably for $5 when I was in Kensington Palace, and I had a Diana book that I showed in Instagram stories a little while ago, but now I can’t find it!!!! I had it and then I find something else that I thought I lost, my BIG London postcards which LITERALLY pop out at me! I will be posting the London postcards at the end of this blog post xx

Here is the Contents page…….. Have a look at the chapter titles for yourself, and then we will look more into the book1

Welcome to Kensington Palace!

Of course that is the introduction to the book, how beautiful is this illustration by John Buckler in 1826!

I love old pictures like this, the settings always grab me and it is very romantic, adjust guides you to a NEW world! Takes you back to those time periods of english historical places where you feel romance, and old english gardens, and this illustration is just REAL ART! It really does pop out at me! Old english art is just beautiful, and this sketch looks like something Amy would have drawn in Little Women or something! It is very beautiful, and really captures the Palace as it is, if you stare at it long enough it is almost like you are there!

According to this introduction, Kensington Palace definitely does have its history through the centuries, from William the THIRD to Mary the SECOND in the 17th century and the showing of secret lives and public lives, lots of secret history involved behind palace walls, but then you only know what is public when it is made public… I have always been fascinated by English history through the years, decades, centuries, from long ago…….. and it gets more and more interesting the more things you collect over time!

To be honest, the only tour I remember was Tour 3 Victoria Revealed, I took pictures on my INSTAGRAM, have a look as you will love the big picture of Queen Victoria when she was YOUNG! Probably when she was 18 I think, I am pretty sure that was when she was 18, I took a photo in that room of a piano, which had my heart ❤ The pink and white and green colours reminded me of a nursery, and it was just AMAZING to be standing right in the room where Queen Victoria was when she was a CHILD! Have you seen the ITV series of Victoria? You have to watch that to get more of a story and interesting factors and you learn more about the history and everything that happened by watching it, I started watching it but lost track of time in the process as I was highly enjoying it BUT stopped watching it when I moved again… I shall add it back to the list, but I think it is off Netflix in Australia for those in Australia. I particularly loved the story and the history as I remember a lot about Victoria and Alberts love story…… Highly recommend if you haven’t watched it yet….

Here starts the History! This book is only showing a short history, but sometimes long history can become boring and mundane that you are going to have to read what is written in the pictures. I won’t write anything or long paragraphs in this section as you probably need to read the photos instead to get a better understanding.

I did visit the Kings apartments but I actually don’t remember it much! It is a very vague memory already!

There were quite a few tours, as it was hard to keep up with everything on the Kensington Palace tour!

I visited this room right here, and it is a memory etched in my mind mostly out of all the rooms, I literally stood right in the heart of this room….And stared right at the pictures knowing this was pure art in its form…. A true delight to look at! Interesting and vivid, and captured the eye! It stood right out at you! This was the most ornate room in Kensington Palace out of my opinion. The gold frames were absolutely elegant and guided. I completely MARVELLED at them!!!!!!!

GENERATIONS LATER………….

Look at the costumes of the day!

This picture is so beautiful to me, the garden and the English feel of it, its almost like the Secret Garden, and reminds of that poem Lord when I die please let it be in Spring! An English Garden poem I posted a long time ago….. “An Englishman’s Prayer”…….

Here is some further reading for a list of books to get in order to understand more about this topic and the tours involved, these books would elaborate MUCH more on the history and Victoria herself!

I have Victoria: A Life by A. N. Wilson

Today I found THREE London souvenir postcards I bought in the London Eye GIFT shop

I have a brochure of the Tower of London from Historic Royal Palaces, including Banqueting House, a London MAP, Map and information for the Kensington Palace Diana: The Fashion Story exhibition I attended, photos are on my private Instagram account though, hopefully I will post them on my main Instagram page I highlighted before….. ST Georges Chapel book from when I visited there!, Weston Park brochure from visiting somewhere and I collected it somehow maybe at Tatton Parks gift store…. Hampton Court Palace brochure and then a Covent Gardener small book which had a map of Covent Garden, the pictures I took were right where My Fair Lady was filmed! One of my most favourite films of all time with Audrey Hepburn 🙂

Well these are a few of my favourite things that I collected in the Kensington Palace bag when I was there and I have carried it with me on my trip back home!

I hope you enjoyed the history, the book and seeing what I collected as I had a lot of fun collecting brochures whilst on the tour, it was a delight! and as you can see, I have still got my ticket from when I went to PARIS!

Here is a story and pictures of my TOUR ❤

January 2020 – BE INSPIRED with Essential Beauty Trends of REVLON

Featured

This month I am using 3 major products and 1 particular product that was actually from Priceline Pharmacy here in Australia, in Kingsway Shopping Centre in Madeley. I will be using other branded products for foundation, and eyeliner and the rest of the face with whatever I do. So for Christmas I got the REVLON Bronze Glow Highlighting Palette 030 where you brush on to enhance complexion for a Natural sun kissed look!

I have started a You Tube Channel and I have done TWO videos NOW!!!!! Here is the link to the second video

EMMALISA TILLI’s January 2020 – BE INSPIRED with Essential Beauty Trends of REVLON YOUTUBE CHANNEL VIDEO

where I will be highlighting the products I have listed. I did an introduction pre – blog post as a practice as I have never done an actual proper beauty you tube channel video. I did one and was meant to do a blog post with the products I had you may notice but I never got around to doing the blog post! So today I will be using 3 Revlon products for the haul, but I don’t have Revlon foundation anymore. I used to use the one with the red lid that every girl used in those days, and would definitely like to get it again, but today I will be using the following:

First off, I will be using the:

MAC Prep and Prime Natural Radiance Base Lumiere – Natural Radiance Illuminating Base

A silky gel emulsion, rich in natural ingredients, that hydrates and primes to improve foundation or powder application and promote smooth texture. Vitamins E and C protect with antioxidants, while caffeine calms skin. Illuminating pearl powders reflect optic radiance. Now in two shades: Radiant Yellow is especially effective on deeper skin tones and Radiant Pink for fairer skin tones. The formula disappears upon application, resulting in a beautiful glow.

KEY CLAIMS AND BENEFITS
  • Provides long-term hydration
  • Smoothes and softens skin
  • Improves radiance
  • Refines skin
  • Silicone-free

NARS – Light 2 Vanilla Soft Matte Complete Concealer

Natural look. High coverage. Concealing hits an all-time high with this lightweight, full coverage concealer. Get high-performance correction with soft-focus blurring: Soft Matte Complete Concealer instantly conceals dark circles, redness, discoloration, hyperpigmentation, blemishes, and acne with a light-diffusing effect that blurs and smooths. Overtime, skin becomes softer and smoother from collagen-boosting peptides, hyaluronic acid, and a protective cocktail of Vitamins A, C, and E. Complete comfort. Completely natural-looking coverage. Oil-free.

Smash Box Studio Skin 15 hour wear hydrating foundation – It is a high-performing liquid foundation that helps you face anything. Studio Skin evens skin tone & never settles into pores & lines. Find your perfect match among 40 shades (that won’t oxidise) & a broad range of undertones. My shade is: FAIR WITH WARM OLIVE UNDERTONE

You can get it for $36 at Smashbox online

After the foundation I will be using the eye primer from Younique. It is called:

Moodstruck Eye Primer

$25

You can watch a You Tube Totorial HERE as I forgot to include it in the YouTube tutorial I did!!!

Then I used:

Revolution Makeup Revolution London Reloaded Velvet Rose Eyeshadow Palette – bestselling

A truly compelling mixture of 15 smooth and rich shades, featuring essential beiges and browns, multi-functional shimmery golds, burgundy hues and an ultra pigmented black with a copper glitter twist

Shades;
matte peachy beige
shimmery warm gold leaf
matte brandy brown
matte warm taupe
metallic cream gold
matte deep warm bronze
matte peachy beige
metallic tan rose
metallic chocolate bronze
matte muted apricot
metallic peachy gold
matte burnt cinnamon
matte deep brown
matte caramel
shimmer black with a copper twist

How Pretty is this GORGEOUS palette!!!??

And then after applying the eyeshadow using a highlighter then a brown one and then a gold one I used the:

REVLON Blush Highlight Palette

BRONZE GLOW

Easy to blend, buildable colour gives a multi-dimensional sculpted look. Provides natural colour highlights and a soft healthy glow

This is my current FAVOURITE contour palette and only one at the moment, when I went to do the tutorial that didn’t upload I was COMPLETELY frustrated there was an error and I couldn’t show you the WHOLE 22 minutes of each step of each product. It was hard work and took a long time so when the ending was frustrating I was so glad when I did another video it at least uploaded! I will do my best to do another one hopefully as I had a lot of fun with the first idea tutorial, I could get used to this! What I will do is upload pictures of me so you can see the finished product otherwise it would have been a TOTAL waste of time!!!! All that work! haha! I could do so much for a review on this highlighter palette and I wish I could provide an EXCEPTIONAL review! If you look at how the gold and the browns gathered together you can see the contouring is just AMAZING!!!!! I was HIGHLY excited over this one product and I completely swear by it at the moment I cannot recommend it enough!!! I think out of all the products I used in this blog post/youtube channel/tutorial it is by FAR my absolute favourite!!! If you are olive skinned EVEN better, it gives such a beautiful bronzed sun kissed glow and if that is the look you are going for this is the BEST product to use during this Summer season in Perth, Western Australia.

After the highlighter I then used the:

Still Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner

I love how it has that smudged effect, as it doesn’t look totally perfect but it is a nice line effect along with that 50’s look. An iconic smudge stick liner designed to deliver highly-pigmented colour and long-lasting wear even on sensitive or watery eyes.  I particularly used this eyeliner as it is Ultra-Creamy and it builds the product up for a smudged eyeshadow effect…

After the eyeliner I then used REVLON VOLUME & LENGTH MAGNIFIED

Full, feathery lashes. High-gloss finish.

This transformative mascara makes a big thing out of ordinary lashes, with maximum volume and unbelievable length.

I have seen some good some bad reviews on this, I like the fact it wasn’t one of those mascara that say oh! it is FULL of volume, and has a crappy wand, THIS wand happens to be favourite. I love the wand of this mascara and it does give quite the volume but I found it hard to get that full lash effect even though it says volume and length, i felt it did the job anyhow!

Revlon Colour Stay Lipliner

Rich color. Long-wearing definition

I received this Revlon Colorstay lipliner in Mauve as a Christmas Present. I have always been a fan of Revlon products and their Colorstay line especially. This lipliner was absolutely beautiful. It can be used to define your & glides on easily and not JUST THAT, its products are made to prevent bleeding. My lips felt exceptionally smooth. The Mauve shade gives that enhanced & natural colour. It REALLY DEFINED the outside section of my lips so I highly recommend this lipliner and have added it to my list of favourites!!!

La di da!

What do you think of the finished look?

Do you have any favourite products from this collection?

Do you prefer the Revlon Mascara?

Smashbox Foundation?

Stila eyeliner?

Leave comments below on which product is your favourite and why, and I will be happy to reply! I love to hear from you. Especially if it is to do with the category of Beauty! If you comment I will add you to my list for my NEXT GIVEAWAY.

Love Emmalisa

Two Top Terrific Books of 2023

Today I went on the Amazon website and saw that there was a section of Meghan Trainor’s Favourite Recent Reads. Now at the moment I cannot share photos on my website which I am working on and will get more data on Wednesday but I couldn’t help but publish this article ASAP!

I clicked on the banner and there are two books that she recommended in which I aim to get soon so I can do a book review on them. I will see if they are at the local library on Thursday too, but here they are. They are the following:

  1. Change your Brain, Change your Life

BRAIN PRESCRIPTIONS THAT REALLY WORK

In this breakthrough bestseller, you’ll see scientific evidence that your anxiety, depression, anger, obsessiveness, or impulsiveness could be related to how specific structures in your brain work. You’re not stuck with the brain you’re born with. Here are just a few of neuropsychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen’s surprising–and effective–“brain prescriptions” that can help heal your brain and change your life:

To Quell Anxiety and Panic:

¸ Use simple breathing techniques to immediately calm inner turmoil
To Fight Depression:
¸ Learn how to kill ANTs (automatic negative thoughts)
To Curb Anger:
¸ Follow the Amen anti-anger diet and learn the nutrients that calm rage
To Conquer Impulsiveness and Learn to Focus:
¸ Develop total focus with the “One-Page Miracle”
To Stop Obsessive Worrying:
¸ Follow the “get unstuck” writing exercise and learn other problem-solving exercises

2. What Happened to You?: Conversations on Trauma, Resilience, and Healing

Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain development and trauma expert, Dr Bruce Perry, discuss the impact of trauma and adverse experiences and how healing must begin with a shift to asking ‘What happened to you?’ rather than ‘What’s wrong with you?’.

Through wide-ranging and often deeply personal conversation, Oprah Winfrey and Dr Perry explore how what happens to us in early childhood – both good and bad – influences the people we become. They challenge us to shift from focusing on ‘What’s wrong with you?’ or ‘Why are you behaving that way?’ to asking ‘What happened to you?’. This simple change in perspective can open up a new and hopeful understanding for millions about why we do the things we do, why we are the way we are, providing a road map for repairing relationships, overcoming what seems insurmountable, and ultimately living better and more fulfilling lives.

Many of us experience adversity and trauma during childhood that has lasting impact on our physical and emotional health. And as we’re beginning to understand, we are more sensitive to developmental trauma as children than we are as adults. ‘What happened to us’ in childhood is a powerful predictor of our risk for physical and mental health problems down the road, and offers scientific insights into the patterns of behaviours so many struggle to understand.

A survivor of multiple childhood challenges herself, Oprah Winfrey shares portions of her own harrowing experiences because she understands the vulnerability that comes from facing trauma at a young age. Throughout her career, Oprah has teamed up with Dr Bruce Perry, one of the world’s leading experts on childhood trauma. He has treated thousands of children, youth, and adults and has been called on for decades to support individuals and communities following high-profile traumatic events. Now, Oprah joins forces with Dr Perry to marry the power of storytelling with the science and clinical experience to better understand and overcome the effects of trauma.

In conversation throughout the book, the two focus on understanding people, behaviour, and ourselves in the context of personal experiences. They remove blame and self-shaming, and open up a space for healing and understanding. It’s a subtle but profound shift in our approach to trauma, and it’s one that allows us to understand our pasts in order to clear a path to our future – opening the door to resilience and healing in a proven, powerful way.

Grounded in the latest brain science and brought to life through compelling narratives, this book shines a light on a much-needed path to recovery – showing us our incredible capacity to transform after adversity.

These books may just change your life !!!!!

Hope you enjoyed reading.

Update… … what’s happening rn.

It has been eight months!

Wow!

and O M G, so much has happened. I can’t even remember or know what to begin with! I am wondering really what has happened in between November 2022 and now. I have done a LOT! and you have probably been keeping up to date with my posts on my Instagram. But I have mainly been focusing on my new main Instagram which is emmalisatilli. I have really been focusing on that Instagram as it started out personal and of all my travels but since I have been a singer in 2021 I have created more of a music type account. and I have been absolutely enjoying it and loving it.

I started a novel back in January this year, and I have almost finished a 50,000 word novel!! I am excited to share with you my story. Which is, yes, my story. But it is in a fiction style based on a true story of mine, which I am EAGER to share!!!! I am looking at self-publishing, and I have really dabbled into a creativity of mine which has extended to a fun hobby and more creative aspects of mine. I haven’t been working but I have been studying a Certificate of Naturopathy plus I have started a Makeup course with The Australian Beauty School.

I have also recently started a 30 Day rest program with Arbonne. My friend Amanda Albu got me onto it, and by Day 10 I was feeling less bloated, more energy and feeling so great !

I created some affirmations when I posted on Facebook.

🌸 Be kind to your body

🌸 Set some good health goals

🌸 Treat yourself to something once a week

🌸Create healthy habits, not restrictions

🌸 A healthy outside starts from the inside

These things really help me set the tone for my week. I say these things to myself to really give me purpose and excited that I am taking actionable steps to live a more healthy life. I treated myself to Hungry Jacks last night and after I just didn’t feel that great even though the burger was YUMMY. I am into clean eating and nutritious meals, so my intention is to start a blog or entries where I share more of what I eat and what I get up to with my health. I have a Naturopathy website.

I would love to be more consistent in writing more blogs on personal development and self-growth such as talking about topics on self-love. I have started a self-love program and through Ema Lea Anderson. I have gone more in depth with myself and am more aware that I need more self love every day. I have really learnt to love myself and I feel I have had it all my life from focusing on ME as a single person for YEARS. I would love to come up with more blogs for you. And right now I plan to do more content.

On Wednesday I did a photo shoot with Pickled Roots Photography. Stefano was a lovely man, a pleasure to work with and I really enjoyed doing the shoot outdoors in the Hills – Bells Rapids. I highly enjoyed myself. I will be posting my photos on my Instagram for sure.

I am also wondering if I should do anymore podcasts as most of them I have just read out my blogs that I have previously done and not really come up with my own original content that I haven’t already worked on. I did a podcast on reading some excerpts of my book, Enjoying Life Purpose, but I plan to do more self-development and really get into interesting topics.

One girl that I absolutely love following is Lauren L Barri. She really hones in on weekly plans and to do lists which I absolutely LOVE!

Also, recently, I have changed up my style to a more boho, country and modern look.

I bought lamp from Kmart. and a table for $39 which is really modern and I am really starting to like the minimal look. I have also been into watching soft living videos and am really enjoying The Cottage Fairy.

This video is one of my favourites. Soft living is becoming more and more appealing to me as I was a city girl through and through, and loved the high life and fast pace world. but since being in Perth I have enjoyed what I have been given. It is a small city but there is still so much to do, and I go to a different cafe every time I go out most of the time.

Please have a watch of The Cottage Fairy as I believe you will find it very beautiful. I used to really be into sharing fashion and beauty but I want to focus more on other things now. Personal development is more my thing and I love self-help books. Malama Life is a good one too.

I am reading The Neuroscience of Mindfulness, which is a GREAT book. Great for the mind.

I do love reading and I need to use my time more effectively to read more. I borrow so many books from the library and then before I know it it is due to take back. I love to go to the Joondalup library as it is quite big and has more to it than most in Western Australia. I love doing the library, coffee and study.

I also recently made pumpkin pie which I will share on my Instagram page as at the moment my Gigabyts or data is all used up so I can’t share photos in this blog. Will have to fix that when I get the chance.

I know it is not very appealing if I don’t have photos to make it looks more visual and make the blog look more cool but the thought behind actually blogging is better, as it is challenging to read without having to look at photos. Do you love to read newspapers online? Do you read magazines online? I used to but not so much anymore and I am wondering why. I think my life gets 90 per cent caught up with Instagram. I even found myself on it at 1 o’clock in the morning scrolling through even though it goes into night mode at ten, I kept going on for another fifteen minutes which is easy to do. Do you get caught up with the social media hype? Do you have Twitter? I do, but I hardly use it, I use it for music and promoting my music.

OH! and yes, I just bought a new music track which is inspired by Zara Larsson’s song Can’t Tame Her. It is very edgy, modern pop sounding and I am currently obsessed with it. I highly enjoy her music and style, and also really into Mimi Webb atm.

What I am thinking of doing rn, is…… every morning when I get up I will do my online diary. I will make it a daily thing. Hopefully. Let’s see how long that will last……. or even if I will do it tomorrow. LOL

Sorry about not including photos, but maybe it is a good thing. I wanted to share my lamp and table as I really like the modern look. I will look into getting more GB’s and will work on some more blogs for you.

I really would love to see in your comments what personal development podcasts you listen to. Or what self-help books you are reading or have read.

Please comment and I will add them to my list and/or create a list for my next blog! I think I have an idea

Love,

Emmalisa

My love for Music

So, I have been wanting to come up with some fresh and NEW content for you! And something that is totally new and different. I was talking with a friend and she said, why don’t you just talk about what you enjoy the MOST! And I said, well, that is music but I didn’t know “how” to do a blog post about it. She suggested I come up with the idea that I write a post about my love for music, and that’s when I decided I will work on it for my audience.

I decided to title the blog post “My love for Music”, because it is just that simple.

I love music.

I live and breath music.

I grew up in a very musical home and my Dad was a worship leader for many years and was even in a non christian band The Flying Fonzarelli’s, before he went to church. Fast forward 30 plus years and he became a Radio Announcer for Triple M. He has interviewed people like Joel Quartermaine from Eskimo Joe, Samantha Jackson (Mel Gibson’s personal trainer), just to name a few!

Growing up in a house where music was played constantly, there were various genres played, from your 70’s disco sounds like ABBA, to the 80’s Madonna era to the 90’s (your early years of Mariah Carey era).

I have so many artists that I would love to share that are my favourite, it would honestly fill up probably 10 pages, but I don’t want to give you a list and bore you to death. I will write down a list of favourite artists in my next blog post just for fun!

Someone said to me the other day, along the lines of, “Music is the number one thing you want to do”. I didn’t say anything, but that person knew me well.

I currently am working on a music project and am working on releasing a single “Mood to party” in which I wrote the lyrics and then when I went to Artisan Music in Malaga on the 8th of April 2021, the producer Patrick Carre helped me change lyrics and melodies from the collaboration I did with Bobby Gray at The Artist studio in Sydney (via Zoom videos).

I will be going back this Wednesday on the 28th of April to finalise the song and re perform it with the new lyrics and melodies Patrick and I came up with. I am really looking forward to recording in the studio. I have a website showcasing my songs and covers that I have done and I have also showed several of my demo’s on SoundCloud. You can find it on Emmalisa Tilli Music.

It really is exciting for me, and I have never had such a wonderful project to work on. The best and most fun part is coming up with the cover artwork for the single, in which I believe I will definitely be using my creative right brain when it comes to it. I have SO many ideas, and I can’t wait to do a photo shoot for it!!!

So, it’s more than exciting and my heart wants to burst at the fact that I am ACTUALLY recording in a proper recording studio! I am looking forward to the final results, and when done it will be on Spotify for you to have a listen. I will update my website with the song and also my Facebook and Instagram page which is both “Emmalisa Tilli Music”.

Have a listen to my FIRST ever demo here. It is called “Raise it up“.

I have done several demo’s and am considering on whether to record all songs and put on an EP or an album. I love my song “LOVE” because of the rhythm and the beat. It is probably my favourite, but I chose “Mood to Party” as my first single because it was one of my favourites too. Out of all the demo’s/songs I did, it really grabbed my attention the most, and it’s a bit of a dance type song so I really hope that when it comes out, you will be able to groove to it, and find it fun!

The songs that I have done demos with are a very dance pop feel, but my first non christian song I ever wrote actually has a rock style to it. I haven’t done the music, just the words, but its a very special song to me, because I stopped writing for many years because of a busy lifestyle. As a teenager, I wrote a lot out of spirituality and from the heart. I think I stopped writing music at 19 because then and after I was working either full time or studying part time and working part time plus church activities. I won’t be giving away my first song title that I wrote because I want it to be a surprise! The song has to be a surprise! It’s going to take a long time to get the recording done, but if ABBA takes 18 months to produce a single, then it can wait too.

I have done a Singer/Songwriter course through Talent College, and I learnt about warming up your vocals and different techniques.

I also learnt about establishing your own unique brand and sound, Melody and Chords, Designing and Writing for yourself, Effective Collaborations that boost your profile and Recording your own material and presenting ideas.

My favourite part was the Goal Setting and the Vision Board. I have created a white board with “Music Goals/Plans of 2021” and at the TOP of that list is releasing mood to party as a single and that is coming TRUE!!!!

I was going to put another song as a single but it may be too much for me to dive into. I wish I could record more than one song but we have to see how I go first with doing one song for now! It has definitely kept me happy!

For now, I am just happy to be recording this one song and I will be spending four hours on it on Wednesday so that’s plenty of time for me to get it right (I think!) Last session I didn’t get to finish, but hopefully this session will be everything I dreamed of, and I can’t wait to share the single with you!

What type of music do you like to listen to?

Do you play an instrument?

I am going to collate a list of favourite artists in my next blog, and I hope you enjoyed reading about “my love for music”!

My TOP 5 Books to read this year in 2021 (PART 1)

The following five books are a few books that I would recommend to read for the year of 2021. I actually have a signed copy by Charles Spencer himself for number 2 which is exciting and thrilling nonetheless.

I am taking my time with these reads as the first one is quite detailed and full of lots of information. Highly interesting and intellectual and I find it knowledgeable and it probably could lean towards the word, scholarly. I added three books in the following picture that aren’t in the blog but I may do something about the book on Victoria by A.N. Wilson. I started reading it in Scarborough and still have yet to finish that one as I went on a rushed shopping day to Koorong not too long ago and bought all those books I blogged about previously.

Here is an account for each book and I hope you enjoy reading! 📖

1. Charles Dickens: A Life by Claire Tomalin

Charles Dickens was a phenomenal writer. His novels are read the world over and he enriched the English Language. He mocked power and greed while speaking up for ordinary people. His public readings brought adoring crowds, and he was seen as a cheerful family man. Yet there was a darker Dickens whose demons drove him to reject his wife, fail his children, break with friends and conduct a secret love affair in his last years. In this book, Claire Tomalin gives us the best account yet of the man, his works, his times and, most of all, his extraordinary genius. It is powerful and remarkable as said by “The Times”.

2. To catch a king – Charles Spencer

How did the most wanted man in the country outwit the greatest manhunt in British History? King Charles I was beheaded in 1649 outside his palace of Whitehall, when his eldest son, Charles, returned in 1651 to fight for his throne, he was defeated by Cromwells armies at the battle of Worcester. Expecting to meet the fate of his father, Charles fled for his life. From hiding in an oak tree to travelling as one half of an eloping couple and observing celebrations of his rumoured demise, he relied on grit, fortitude and good luck to survive.

In this gripping action packed, true adventure story, best selling author Charles Spencer draws on extensive archive material, Pepys account and many others to retell the epic adventure of Charles II.

3. Henry V – William Shakespeare

Henry V is a history play by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written near 1599. It tells the story of King Henry V of England, focusing on events immediately before and after the Battle of Agincourt during the Hundred Years’ War.

4. The Children’s Book – A S Byatt

Famous author Olive Wellwood writes a special private book, bound in different colours, for each of her children. In their rambling house near Romney Marsh they play in a story book world but their lives, and those of their rich cousins and their friends, the son and daughter of a curator at the new Victoria and Albert Museum, are already inscribed with mystery. Each family carries its own secrets.

They grow up in the golden summers of Edwardian times, but as the sons rebel against their parents and the girls dream of independent futures, they are unaware that in the darkness ahead they will be betrayed unintentionally by the adults who love them.

The “Irish Times” says the book is “compelling and tremendously enriching an intricate tale, energetically fashioned by a spinning fairy in the attic, an indefatigable storyteller.”

5. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society – Mary Ann Schaffer

It’s 1946. The war is over, And Juliet Ashton has writers block.

But when she receives a letter from Dawsey Adam’s of Guernsey – a total stranger living halfway across the channel, who has come across her name written in a second hand book – she enters into a correspondence with him, and in time with all the members of the extraordinary Guernsey literary potato peel pie society.

Through their letters, the society tells Juliet about life on the island, their love of books and the long shadow cast by their time living under German occupation. Drawn into their irresistible world, Juliet sets sail for the island, changing her life forever.

Please let me know in the comments section which book you would love to read first?
