7 Tips on how to get motivated and feel unstuck & feel your best in 2021

Featured

Do you feel like your world is becoming sluggish? Do you think you need extra motivation, and becoming dry in your personality and/or character?
Are you wanting more self/personal development happening in your life?
feeling demotivated? inactive? Flat? Lifeless? Slack?

All these things mean you could be coming stagnant. I don’t know about you, but I have been lately, and it is something that I don’t want, or even need!

I thought I would write Seven tips on how to get motivated and feel your best.

Here is 7 tips to get yourself motivated daily or weekly to perform your best.

Let’s start with productivity.

1. Clean up your desk space.

Bring out your pretty stationary, stapler, paper clips etc and maybe buy a print on Etsy and frame that would be a nice decoration on your writing desk. Wipe your computer screen. Clean your keyboard. Clean your laptop. Change your desktop wallpaper to something pretty. Get a small vase and some fake flowers and put it beside your computer. Organise your papers and pens and put them in their proper place. E.G. pen holder, paper trays etc.

2. Read a motivational book.

I could list a NUMBER of books that could help in this arena.

Read something like an inspiring story. I bought “Seize the day” by Joyce Meyer and it was something that I badly wanted to get because it was to do with purpose. When I felt I was becoming stagnant I realised it’s because I don’t have much purpose. And that’s what I need.

Here is a list of books to get you motivated:

Think like a monk

Girl, stop apologising – Rachel Hollis

Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance – Angela Duckworth

Key to Success: How to Be Successful and the Habits of Successful People

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – Mark Manson

You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life – Jen Sincero

Big Magic: How to Live a Creative Life, and Let Go of Your Fear – Elizabeth Gilbert

Reading motivational books is so fulfilling and rewarding for your mind and general health and wealth. It abundantly gives you gems and sparks of words that appeal to the brain when reading. When I see a quote that pops out at me, I always have to share it on my Instagram Exquisite Emmalisa page or Emmalisa Tilli page. It also keeps you progressing and advancing. I don’t know about you, but having to read personal development books is what keeps me going in life, and self-growth is so important, and having those quotes and/or statements are what makes you endure life.

3. Write a To-Do List.

The best thing for productivity is to write a to do list, or even write a plan of the day. That is what I try my best to do almost every day to keep my mind and life on track.

For example, it may look like this:

  • Finish Assignment 7, question 4
  • Read my book The Mind Gut Connection
  • Call (family/friend)
  • Appointment/s for the day
  • Work on blog post
  • Type 1000 words for current book project

That is an example of what my day looks like. This is a daily example of mine, and is what I am doing for today, and I create a box, so that it is easier to get tasks done, so that I look at it, and see what has been done and what’s not.

Writing lists creates an efficient and effective day, and I am sure that is the most inspiring thing that everyone wants to do!

4. Eat Healthy

Make sure you are feeling your body and nourishing it with wholesome foods. Too much take away and Uber Eats can actually affect your mood and overall health. I recently started ordering Uber Eats three times a week or more, and I got a blood test and the results were that my cholesterol was way too high at 7.2. To lessen this I started to make a salad with cabbage in as it apparently lowers cholesterol. I highly recommend reading The Mind Gut Connection by Emeran Mayer. I have just started it and it is a brilliant read on how our mental state is affected by our gut health. It is almost like having two brains. The way you fuel and feed your body and gut/stomach affects your main brain in your head. So, once you have started eating healthy it generally lifts up your mood. One thing I find is that smoothies can refresh your body as well. My most top blog post is Sweet Sunday Smoothie

5. Do some calming meditation

I highly recommend this app called “Calm”. It has many sleep stories and is great for the brain when resting. There are other apps you can use for meditation, and you can simply just go onto YouTube and look up tutorials on:

Yoga

Pilates

Daily Mindfulness Meditation

10 minute meditation for anxiety

Things like this really help for those that struggle to keep a balance through out the day. I think its good to switch off technology and social media for 10-20 minutes DAILY if you want to be successful in life. You’re not going to become successful in productivity and/or being your best if you sit on your bum scrolling through Facebook and Instagram all day. Yes, they’re put there as a platform for connection and social connection/social networking/forums, but if you want to be successful you do have to learn to switch off at some point as it gives you rest and helps you refresh the/your mind. So that you can move onto better accomplishments.

6. Post your achievements on social media once you’re done!

I think that this is a FABULOUS idea. When I received my Certificate III in Library and Information Services in the post, I posted it on Facebook and I had so many people saying congratulations, it felt like I really did do something rewarding after I decided to post it on social media! I felt like I had REALLY achieved something great, and it was a good feeling. the process of the course took longer than expected but I pushed through, and the end result was amazing! I really did feel proud of myself and I will be doing this when I have my song on Spotify on the 9th July 2021. When Mood to Party is released I will be posting on Facebook for all my wonderful friends to see!!!!! and I am sure that will give me a proud feeling. If you have completed a short course, diploma or university course, share it. Instagram and Facebook are great platforms for that. and if you have done something like get your L’s or your P’s/drivers license, share it with the world! Be proud and look how far you have come and achieved.

7. Lastly, Take a walk

I did this just yesterday at Hyde Park in Perth Western Australia, and it was the best feeling. You will notice I stopped by a greenery structured area on my Instagram page, and I decided to wear a summery dress in the middle of winter. I wanted to bring some sunshine into my life!!! It was sunny outside even after it rained, and decided to go to Hyde Park, grab a skinny weak latte and nibble on a jam donut (whilst getting swooped by a duck that stole the rest….). Taking a walk does wonders for your mental health. it brings clarity, focus and stability. Your mind feels so much better when doing so and increases your cardiovascular fitness. and your heart rate which improves your heart health. It assists you with maintaining a healthy weight and lowers any risk of disease. So! Doing this can do so much for your general and overall well being. I highly recommend you take a walk at least once to twice a week if you can and bonus if you can do it three to four times a week! You will be fit and on your way to more happiness if you do! I used to be great at walking especially on the treadmill at the gym, but I must say I haven’t exercised like I should the past few years compared to when I was in my 20’s.

I hope you find these things helpful and that you enjoyed reading. Please have a look at the list of books to read, and make sure you jot them down for resources and you can highlight and write notes when reading to help further your personal development / self – growth.

Change and consistency is key. If you don’t change anything in your life you will always become stagnant, and dry. So, try change things up a bit! Take a vacation….. Then do your hard work. and stop procrastinating. You’re not alone in this, as millions of people around the world go through stagnancy, and motivating yourself is knowing yourself. what things keep you on your toes and continue on with creativity, and purpose.

I am currently writing a christian personal development / self-help/development book in which I have done 14,000 words and I am SO happy that I thought I would share that achievement on the blog! There! That’s ONE way to share!

So I hope you take these seven things and use them for inspiration. And out what inspires you the MOST! and go with it. Start small, and build on that. Don’t forget, inspiration is key for getting rid of a stagnant life, and knowing what inspires you whether its creative or whatever. Do that thing. Figure it out. Write down a plan. a daily planner or a weekly planner/to do list, and you’ll do great!!!

P.S. Someone recently today gave me some great advice and said the following:

“Don’t compare yourself to others, whether it would be lifestyle or personality. We are each unique, and should embrace that.”

What I am dreaming of in 2018

The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. …

So, it’s a New Year. It is 2018 and I am ready to rock! Bring out the planners. Create a fresh new vision! Build my future and further business/work/blogger prospects.

Before I tell you my favourite books or quotes of the year, I want to reflect on the year ahead. I want to broaden my writing prospects. Study more. Read more. Have more “quiet times”. Be more community involved. Join a church. I have just started attending KingdomCity in Wangara here in Western Australia with the senior pastors, Mark and Jemima Varughese. Their vision is “connecting, equipping and empowering people to bring the reality of God to their world.”

But I just want to further my education goals and reach higher. Aim higher. Get more and better fast tracked results health wise, financial wise or any goal-oriented points I put myself into.

My dream.

One word.

London.

Full stop.

I am enjoying the peace and quiet in Landsdale to reflect on what I personally want and strive to do. I have done the Reverse Bucket List last year. Tick!

I have set goals.

I want to be creative in my ideas.

But now is my time to put things into action and for once, use my decision-making skills and learn the decision-making process.

I have set goals and tasks, which I could share with you, but all I am thinking is, the “refresh” button. I want to start all over again, renew my thoughts, clear my mind, do it with a clean slate.

I am a goal oriented girl, and constantly talk about goals whether they’re long or short! My full dreams and aspirations and all the things I want to achieve. I am a very creative type, so doing things to create a program and become creative in everything I do would definitely help. I would love to create a platform for women to gain confidence in themselves. Starting a finishing school in Perth would also be a huge ambition/dream. I am ready!

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. …

So, I am pulling out “Your Beautiful Business” Book by Emma Franklin Belle and going to re-read this short inspirational book to see if I can turn my dreams of this blog into a business.

Emma Franklin Bell is the founder of The Beautiful Business Academy (The BBA). The BBA is an entrepreneurial academy for creative women who want to accelerate the growth of their businesses and successfully build their brands.

Your Beautiful Business Book inspires you to leap into your business and build something that is soulful, purposeful and profitable!

Next up, I will go through the book step by step about decluttering and building a stand out clear vision for my business. Bring on 2018 with some new fresh ideas and a heart full of many desires. I will be working on a book review of this book in my next blog post.

Any tips?

Have you started a business?

What are your goals for 2018?

Have you got any writing goals?

Any travel goals?

Also, what do you think of me starting a Finishing School in Perth for young ladies? Please comment below your thoughts. I would LOVE to hear from you!

Set your goals high, and don’t stop till you get there.

P.S. I will add my favourite books of the year and do more Book Reviews this year along with some different self-help quotes in a new blog post.

Also, don’t forget to check out Emma’s website and claim your FREE copy of her book!

My ‘Educational Royal’ Course

I have never been so excited in my life!!!!! I was going to update my “About” page with something NEW but instead I thought I would just do a ‘short blog post’, so this is going to be a little different…..

I have been working on a few other blog posts, and didn’t write or plan or even think of doing this current post. I just got too excited when I came across something amazing when I was at the library!

As you know, I have become fascinated with genealogy, so tomorrow I will be picking up a copy of the latest “Inside History” magazine.

The latest summer edition had a whole list of FREE and PAID courses to do, and my eyes eagerly scanned the pages, and away I typed into my laptop the websites so I could see for myself.

So, I came across a website called Future Learn, and they do a whole heap of FREE online courses. When you finish you can buy a certificate to show that you finished the course, but I am not too sure if it is accredited. I didn’t look up on that, but to have my name with this current course I am doing, I am absolutely thrilled to the max!!!!

I am currently working on doing “A History of Royal Food and Feasting” with the University of Reading.

henry-viii-image-553059

You can do it in your own time, and I love that I can do it from the comfort of my own home. I have also been doing Webinars with familytreewebinars.com, and you can learn about social history, what it is, and how you can read up on it. There is a “History Toolkit” that has a link to show you “How to read 18th century writing” which is found on Do History.

If you are interested in doing the course, go to http://www.futurelearn.com. There are a heap of courses online to choose from and I totally recommend for you to have a look and just check out what is available. They are with top notch universities, like the University of London, or the British Council, so it isn’t anything dodgy! Just so you know! You learn that Henry the Eighth’s reign was the most important reign in English History, and making England a Protestant nation. I didn’t know that Mary was crowned as the first true Queen of England in 1553 at Westminster, you learn something new everyday! This course is sooooo me!

QUEEN VICTORIA

I am beside myself, that I found a lovely course to do on the side that has something to do with ‘royalty’! and instead of just going to the library, and reading, this is more studious, and keeps it fun!

I didn’t have anything in plan for this post, other than the fact that I am doing the course, because my About Page wouldn’t come up in WordPress for me to add it to that section. So, another day I will update it, and I can’t WAIT to get my certificate already!

Hang on! I am only still on Session 1!

Until next time!

xx

How to live a successful life

What does success mean to you?

How would you define it in your way of words?

Do you measure it by the goals you attain?

Is it what you have? Is it buying your first home? A car?

The definition of “success” is a “favourable outcome”. It is something you complete and a goal that is reached.

We all want to be successful in something. We all dream it. I know that when and if I do complete a Certificate in Library Studies, that will be a “success” for me! When you finish something with an inward happiness in heart, I believe that that is what success is.

If I reach the VISION that I set out in my About Page – that would be a success for me personally. My desire is to reach out to young girls all over Australia, and even other countries. I even received great feedback from a fan in Pakistan!

Everyone wants to be successful at something. It’s naturally a human thing!

I want to be successful in studies, (future and past) work, home, personal development and any other thing in life. Striving for or seeking to achieve things in life is my top priority, and I want to share with you some top bonus tips.

At the start of this blog I asked some very important questions.

If you answered these then that’s great! You are on your way to identifying your passions and understanding what it is that you really want to do!

1. Make lists

Make a list of your short term and long term goals. Write all your past and future goals down so you have something to strive for in your week, day, month!

I’m a huge list maker, and I love using sticky notes with everything I do. Sometimes I write down what I need to do for the next day and tick them off the following day to make myself feel like I have accomplished something.

2. Educate yourself

Read up on your passions. If you love cooking I’m sure the first thing you google is recipes! So whatever your passion is, google about it!!!!

Gaining knowledge in your area is the best thing you can do. Like for fitness, you learn all the muscles in the body, what the best supplements are and vitamins you need to take daily and what is the best protein shake to have to trim yourself up!

Learning is the best way to achieve anything in life.

3. Live in the moment

My advice is to hold dear to the time you’ve got! Live with purpose and excitement! Focus on every bit of goodness that you can’t remember the last negative comment that someone said!!! Live each and every day as if it is your last. So, appreciate the beauty in every activity of every second of every single day.

Inspirational Quotes to live by

“Every woman deserves the chance to realise her God given potential.”

Life skills is quality. Education is attaining. As women, we have to realise our full potential and need to strive for superiority and excellency. If we utilise our mental ability and engage within our communities, we can do more and above and beyond than what we ever dreamed of.

“You have to be true to yourself.

You have to be enough in touch with who you are and what you want, how you want to live and what’s important to you, to make your decisions based on that.”

Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. And, when you stumble, keep faith. And when you’re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can’t or shouldn’t go on.”

Hilary Clinton

Staying true to yourself

I have recently been thinking a lot about what and how young girls think and do and act to fit in a world of boys, friendship, and closeness of peers.

I don’t know everything that goes on in the world, because I lived a pretty sheltered life myself, but I have a heart to reach out to girls that go through either cyber-bullying, peer pressure, and fights that go on in a circle of friends.

I like to stick to basics, and sticking to basics is the best way to go if you want to lead a simple, care – free life.

My top priority in staying true to myself is to:

  • Be a lady of quality

Dare to dream

How many “I wishes” do you have? This is my list…

I wish I could read Italian and French.
I wish I could speak like a really classy woman
I wish I could be a MORE proficient writer!
I wish I could sew and design my own brand of clothes.
I wish I could do my own hairstyles
I wish I had a toned lean killer body
I wish I had a clean, massive, expensive wardrobe

Does any of this sound familiar to you? Everybody wants some sort of words of wisdom to keep them going in life. If you can stay inspired and focus on living and achieving your goals, then whatever goals you have, they can become bigger over time, as you set out to persist and achieve more. We all have dreams, and I have been a big dreamer growing up. I have been the “reach for the stars” kind of girl. Dreams and imagination play a big part from a young age. I dreamt for the “Mary Poppins” and “Disney Princess” life when I was little, and it is probably still in me because what you fantasise as a child can still play out as you grow older! But I do have different dreams as an adult. What are your dreams?

I love this quote:

“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” — A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
